Certains orientalistes attaquent l’islam en prétendant que la religion musulmane s’est répandue par l’épée.

Ils avancent notamment que lors de l’expansion de l’Islam et des conquêtes, les musulmans ont imposé leur religion par la force au peuple conquis.
